Nick Fenton on "blink" http://nickfenton.com/2010/05/03/blink/

"The film is titled “Blink” and was shot in Lexington, KY. Craig made the film on an extremely modest budget. I watched with low expectations considering the budgetary constraints. I was blown away. Not only did the film look and feel professional, there was a great story behind it."

Director's Statement

The DVD release of “blink” is very long overdue. As a filmmaker, the process of making a movie usually is thought of as conceiving the story, shooting the story, then polishing the final product. Until recently, the options for distributing films were so limited that the idea of getting the film out to an audience was often a foregone conclusion, you would just follow the same distribution paths every indie film before you followed.

However, in the new world of digital media, independent filmmakers suddenly have a plethora of viable options for connecting their stories to audiences in new and exciting ways. The completion of “blink” coincided with the early stages of this digital revolution and suddenly we as the creators of the film were faced with the task of making sure that the story we worked so hard to tell found it’s correct way to audiences. Could we just follow traditional distribution paths and sign over the rights to a company that plopped the movie in a catalog and sat it on DVD racks in stores……sure. But we as the creators of this film felt following a dinosaur model like that wouldn’t be doing this movie justice.

A strong underlying theme in “blink” is to make your own destiny and not just take what life gives you. So as filmmakers, we decided to follow our own advice and take the best path for this story rather than following the herd. With that being said, we have decided to partner with Amazon to independently release the film ourselves in order to retain the right to distribute the film to audiences our way. This method allows us to ensure there never will be any contracts or clauses that would prevent a person who wished to view our story from being able to do so.

On May 3rd, 2010, the DVD will be available for purchase through the Amazon.com website. In the near future, we hope to make the film available through digital downloading as well. I would like to personally thank everyone for their patience in waiting for the release of this film, and congratulate everyone involved in the making of this film on having their hard work finally be available for others to enjoy.

Drew Roy’s new TV pilot picked up by TNT
Posted on Screen Rant by Ross Miller

Last June it was reported that Noah Wyle (ER) had been cast in the lead role of a mysterious new alien invasion TV series co-conceived by Steven Spielberg for TNT. We knew at that time that the series would be scripted by Oscar-nominated Saving Private Ryan scribe, Robert Rodat (who also co-conceived the idea), and it would be set six months after an alien invasion on Earth. Wyle will play, “the leader of a ragtag group of survivors who must fight for their survival and maintain their humanity.”
Fast forward six months and more in-depth details have emerged over at Sci Fi Wire about the still untitled Spielberg series. The first major thing is that Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation) has joined the cast as a therapist who helps children cope with the trauma of the invasion. TNT has ordered 10 episodes of the series, with the pilot written by Rodat and directed by Carl Franklin (One False Move).
